New Years Dim Sum
Kim Moon Bakery is been at the centre of the recent bun wars on Dundas on Chinatown. Along with baked good thogh Kim Moon has served food, mainly small dishes, but they also do full on meal-size dishes too.
It still has the bakery counter at the front and the dishes arrive through a mysterious food elevator, but it has recently been renovated with modern decor (handwritten sign and harsh fluorescent lighting don't cut it anymore in Chinatown in 2005) and it also looks an upstairs room will open soon.

I checked out Kim Moon for back to back Dim Sum trips New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Dec. 31st Meal
6. Beef tripe w. ginger and scallions
23. Preserved meat sticky rice
24. Diced beef and preserved veg. in rice rolls
47. Deep fried shrimp roll
Total before tax+tip = $7.00 w. tea.
Everything was pretty damn good, except three shrimp spring rolls is too much for a person to handle, I shoulda went for some sort of dumpling instead.
It was so good I had to hit it up again today.
Jan 1st
8. Chicken feet in chef's sauce
22. Salted fish w. meat on rice
26. Mushroom and chicken rice rolls
36. Steamed pork meat and crab meat soup dumplings
Total before tax+tip = $7.75 w. tea.
It was all damn good, esp., the chicken feet. I thought 36. was going to be the nature-defying soup dumplings I'd read about. But it turned out to be just soup with one big shroom, one giant dumpling and one big piece of crab or crab-like meat. Still it was pretty good, I would describe the taste as luxurious.
